If you have just arrived, welcome to ScootMA!

In the interest of fairness, peace, and enjoyment for all, myself and the moderators have developed forum rules and policies.

These policies must be obeyed by all members posting here. Posts in violation of the rules will be edited or removed by moderators and posters will be warned. Repeat offenders will be banned.

We will add to and edit these rules as the need arises. Hopefully, that will not be necessary, but discussion dynamics always change, and the rules will need to be relevant.

General Respect
This board is founded in the interest of getting riders together and discussing scooter riding in New England. While the aim is to have everyone get along, content is not filtered or censored. We simply ask all members to respect one another. No personal attacks are tolerated.

Event Posting Policies
Any member is welcome to announce any ride or event. This serves as a way to invite people to join you, and create fun rides for all.

In a posting for an event, you must post all details of the event in a way that does not define it as belonging to any particular group. No links in the description to other sites for details of the event.

That event has to be a general event. Not a "group's" event.

All events posted here must be general admission, for anyone viewing them. The post must include all details of the event.

The only exception allowed will be yearly recurring events planned far in advance, designed for the masses, such as rallies and other appropriate similar events. These events may mention the group planning them and may have a link to the event's website. This definition is to be judged by the Moderators. PMs may be sent to Moderators or myself to clarify if needed. Without prior permission from the Administrator, a group may only post such an event once every 60 days.

Dealer Policies
Dealers are welcome to post their comments in the forum, as other users do, and may identify themselves.

Dealers may not post advertising materials without contacting the site Administrator to arrange for a special advertising section. One section will be set aside for each dealer who has made arrangements. These will be added to the Dealer Sections forum.

Dealers are asked to walk the line carefully between advice and sales.

Dealers are welcome to post events and discuss non sales related matters here, in any section.

Buy/Sell/Trade Section Rules
The open Buy/Sell/Trade section is to be used by individuals selling products one-on-one. Individual members may feel welcome to post there any time. This section is NOT for dealers. Dealers must consult the Dealer Policy and contact the Administrator before posting advertising.

If you are unsure, please send a PM to the forum Administrator or a Moderator of the Buy/Sell/Trade section.

Post in the Correct Section
The forum is organized into sections, to make posts easier to find. Please be thoughtful when posting. Place your post in its relevant section and give it a descriptive subject line. Moderators may move or edit threads that are in the wrong location.

Spamming
Any information that is posted in more than one thread, and/or in more than one section, is considered spamming. It is acceptable to start a thread about a topic that has been covered in an older thread, but it is not acceptable to repeat a post to attract more attention. Such threads will be edited or deleted and repeat offenders will be banned.

Signatures
You may define a signature in the Profile area of your account. This signature will appear at the bottom of your posts. It must be of a reasonable size and tasteful. Moderators or the Administrator may send you a Private Message if your signature is considered inappropriate. Failure to implement changes will result in editing of your signature by the Administrator or being banned from the site.

Administrator and Moderator Authority
The decisions of Moderators and the Administrator are final. These people have been appointed because they are trusted to make decisions for the benefit of the site as a whole. Banned users who attempt to re- register will have their email address or IP banned.

As a matter of checks and balances, you may PM the Administrator or email evan ( at ) iunlock ( dot ) com if you feel a Moderator is out of line. All conversations on this matter will be kept confidential, but will be investigated before action is taken.
